The hardtop on my '69 is a Dynaplastics with the pop-out windows and two
latches out front. I thread zip-ties through the holes in the top down
into the holes in the body and snug them up tight. Top is not going
anywhere, and the ties are cheap

Subject: More on HD Top
First, thanks to the many folks that have responded. Some suggest it's
probably a low windshield unit, while others comment that the low
windshield units screw in rather than latch. Mine definately has two
latches for the windshield frame and never had a third in the center.
But, someone has posted a very, very similar top listed for a high
windshield roadster on ebay. The manufacturers plate is the same. Mine
just has pop out windows (will be fixed glass if I can mount this top
properly) instead of Hurst type trim. But, the buyer/winner of this top
will be left with the same issues I'm facing. That is: how to secure
it
in the rear. There isn't any type of attachment that'll reach the soft
top mounting pivot. Just a pair of strategically placed holes to match
the unthreaded versions in the top of the quarter panels behind the
doors
on the car.
Take a look at the Ebay auction with supersized pictures here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1852286559
I'm pretty sure that that is just another model of the Dynaplastics top
I
have. It is identical in fit and finish with the exception of the
quarter
window difference. My front latches are a little different, but they
work
fine with my '69, so ...
If the pictures don't help: Got a roadster and a dynaplastics top that
you can show me how to fit within 500 miles of Houston? Got any time
this
week? It rains a lot in Houston, and I'm topless w/o this one.
Thanks,
Milton
