Folks,
My part time brain has some issues with the hd top supplied with my '69
high windshield roadster. It had pop out vent windows (I've had glass cut
and tempered to install in their place as fixed mount), and an oval badge
that reads: Dynaplastics, RC centered in a stage coach and So. El Monte,
CA.
My problem is that it just doesn't seem to fit properly. It only uses the
outside window frame latch points (never had a center latch - shouldn't a
late top latch in the center too?), and I don't seem to be able to figure
out how it should be mounted in the rear. It is currently zip tied to
that unthreaded hole right behind the door pillars.
It just seems that I can't get it to fit stably or stay quiet. Burned a
line off the paint on the rear deck lid with it's squirming on the way
from LA to Houston.
I'm concerned that this could be a low windshield roadster top. It could
be my imagination, but it sure seems like the very back is sitting flush
and the sides show what may be as much as a 5 degree angle on the way to
the windshield. The convert top stays are progressively more visible as
you look toward the front of the car.
Is this enough evidence to diagnose my top fit ills. Of course, I can
supply pictures if no.
TIA,
Milton
