I took my oil filter off the other day just for curiosity's sake. Inside
was a tube that was approximately 5 to 6 inches in length. It appeared to
be fixed to the oil filter mounting base. Is it removable? Is this the
famous tube that prevents back-flow or is there another that fits over it?
The parts guy at my Sunridge Nissan showed me a long filter that fit fine.
He said it was for a diesel engine. The only thing he didn't know was if it
could handle the higher output oil pump from my 150HP 2000cc engine. Anyone
have a general idea about this? Thanks! Larry.

Subject: Oil Filter Tube
I've been sifting through my printed emails and came across the following
MOD.
>If you cut off about an inch and a half off the anti drain back tube, you
can
use the NISSAN 15208-55Y00 which is readily >available.
Has anyone done this MOD and does someone have a tube out they can measure
as
I don't know how long a stock tube should be?
Thank you!
