Hi John,
They are reflectors. Our vendors have them and you should be able to get
them easily.
As far as what cars had them, the 63-69 cars had the small reflector at the
top. The 70 roadster had a much larger refelctor that was relocated to the
side of the tail lights. A lot of people found the rear end way too busy
because of this and removed them.

A friend of mine was looking at pictures of my roadster and wondered which
years had the stack of three lights in the rear (the picture of my car only
shows two lights and he remembered seeing a roadster 20 years ago with
three lights.. he can't remember what he had for breakfast, but he can
remember tail lights). Anyway, we went to www.datsun.org to look at the
model guide and discovered that my '67.5 appears to be missing the top
little light. I suspect this is a reflector and not a light, but I don't
know for sure. Am I right on this? And if so, as I seem to be missing
them, are they easy to come by?
