Sel, as one lister indicated, another option would be to paint the frame. But
as I recall, you wanted to do something to the inside. What you might do is
drill some holes through the top cap in several places and spray in a product
called Sems Rust Seal. It does exactly that, forever. I used this stuff on my
car 15 years ago, and the rust has never come back (unlike some other products I
have used). It does not have to be painted over or anything. Seems to me
that, with a little work, you could easily seal the inside of the frame no
problem. Just a thought...
