I started to investigate the cause of my #3 spark plugs oil fouling problem yesterday and havent found anything obvious. After taking the head off it does appear that the intake valve guide on that cylinder is a bit worn. I can wiggle the valve just the slightest bit in guide. Question is will a marginal valve guide with a new good valve seal cause enough of a problem to oil foul a plug? If the answer is likely not then I may still need to look at the rings. The oil is obviously coming from somewhere. Brian '69 2000 Tampa, FL http://web.tampabay.rr.com/oilleak/ /// datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net mailing list |
