OT - 510 race car 'registry'??

Hey all,

a friend of a friend is looking to buy what is being sold as a former
race car, but he's unsure of it's history, if there actually is any.  

Does anyone know if there is a registry of some sort of 510s that were
competed formally?  
Anyone on a 510 list that could offer guidance?  Don't know for sure,
but the car likely competed at north-eastern tracks - Mosport, W. Glen,
Limerock, etc.
