SU carbs 1600 v/s 2000

Greetings all,
        I have a 1970 2000 and two sets of SU carbs: one set from a '68 1600
and the original set from my '70 2000.  They look almost identical except
the '70s are dome-shaped, and the '68s are flatter on top.  The '70s may be
a little larger, although I haven't compared them closely enough to say for
sure.  
      What's the difference, if any?  What are the pros and cons of using
either?
