Hey guys and gals. I had a not-so-fun morning today. The weather in Tempe is
gorgeous, mid to upper 70's, not a cloud in the sky. A nice day to get a hair
cut and go out in the Roadster to do so. Well, a few miles from my home, when
taking a corner, the engine died. The whole electrical system seemed to go out
on me. I was able to roll into a parking lot. As I pulled to a stop, smoke
came billowing out from under the right hand side of the dash. I wanted to
quickly see where this as coming from, but, I could not open my hood! The hood
opens up all the time when I don't want it to, but this morning, it would not
budge. Anyway, I called AAA, and 30 minutes later I was home. (First time
I've used them, I was impressed.)
I was able to get my hood open, but found no signs of problems in the engine
compartment. Upon further inspection, my Ammeter has been blown out. The
gauge is foggy with what looks like dark water condensation on it. I'll
continue to look into the wiring, but while I'm doing that, anybody got a spare
early 1600 ammeter? Any other advice would be appreciated as well.
