The truck thread is tired and lame. If people want to drive SUVs, who
cares. Most actually do have a need, even if only occasionally, for a
large hauling vehicle and when you need one you need one. They aren't very
substitutable. If they don't really "need" one, who cares. It's their
perogative to waste their $$$ on whatever they choose. I haul horses with
my mega-truck with the 5th wheel hitch, but 99% of the time I aint haulin
so I guess in some peoples' eyes that's "stooopid". But the alternative is
just as "stoopid" if not "stooopider" -- buying an entire 3rd vehicle to
drive when not hauling.
The bottom line is that it is none of anyones business whether people drive
skateboards or semis. Live and let live.

P.S. Fact: Big vehicles are inherently more safe--it's simple physics. Hit
a 4" diameter tree on the side of the road with a roadster and you'll stop
real quick (major forces ripping at your body). Hit same tree in
Expedition and you'll go right through it and stop more gently (much more
survivable forces on your body). Like it or not, but big semi drivers walk
away from accidents because they drive big vehicles. Drivers of motorcycles
hardly ever walk away from any kind of accident.
