I second that. My old neighbor (whose wife worked at CA DMV) had 2 hotrods -
both Fords. The only, I mean only thing on that car that was Ford was the
VIN plate on the frame. He told me it is very popular in the hotrod scene.
Any hotrodders out there that have the same experience?
I personally am waiting the 7 years or so for my car to drop off of the DMV
scope so that I may register it with a clean title. As a young kid I got
duped by a lazy DMV clerk who had the seller "junk" the car and transfer the
receipt to me. This was back in the smog days of the California Roadsters,
and since mine was a non-op registered car for 7 years, no way was it going
to pass smog.
A perfectly good roadster with a salvage title. It may not matter to me so
much but, my numbers do match. (with 43k on the odometer)
