I was wondering how long it would be before someone else asked this question.

The S/Brake Switch serves only to test the S/Brake warning light, which is 
contained in
the switch's pull handle. The light warns you if you have lost fluid pressure 
in one or
the other of the two brake circuits.
Aren't old cars fun?
