Cobra wheelbase = 90"
Roadster wheelbase = 89.8"
i.e. Close enough!!
Track on the 289 cobra is virtually the same as the Roadster (when you put
6" wheels on the Roadster). The front brakes are the same as the cobra in
dimension. Weight is similar. Roadster frame actually appears to be
stronger than the Cobra frame.
If you want a high speed only car, get a 351 Cleveland motor. Not much more
weight, but HUGE ports. The 4 bbl ports are too big for anything but full
bore racing. the 2 bbl ports are small by comparison to the 4bbl, but when
you compare them to other small blocks, they look like sewer pipes.
Personally, I like the 289. That is what I will put in project #4.....
