Brian,

I chocked my wheels, Ebrake on, in fifth (or fourth for 1600's) and then I
had no trouble.

I didn't have a puller, so, I treaded long 6mm bolts into the balencer holes
and used them to push the pulley off. I backed them up with some scrap steel
to protect the timing cover.
