John,

You're probably right about the 1600s using the .09 nozzles.

FWIW, the numbers for SUs are measured by the 1/8" starting from 1"

For example a HS1 is 1"

HS2 is 1.25" 
HS4 is 1.5"
HS6 is 1.75"

Need more useless information?
