Similar to the Crane unit that Gordon installed is the MSD 6A unit, which
installs easily with either a points system (roadster)or 240-Z (with 260-Z
reluctor-style distributor). Just put one in a 67 1600 last Saturday, took
longer to drill 4 mounting holes and run the wires (1/2 hour)than it did to
plug it in (10 min). Check the MSD website, it shows the wiring diagrams for
the various ignition styles. Typical price is $135-169. You will never go back
to basic points, or even Pertronics. Next upgrade is to install mag pick-up
within stock roadster distributor housing.
