I have read that the hoods are the same dimensions but the hood prop
may be different. Also, the latch on the '70 (and '69?) has a second
release lever whose mounting holes may not be present on the earlier
hoods.
If you are willing to weld the hood prop on, you can probably get a
different year hood to fit pretty well. Or drive without so everyone
can admire your engine.
