exhaust over rear axle

Hi all,
The first thing a removed 09/00 starting my body off restoration, was
the exhaust.
Now the restoration is as far that it is time for the custom exhaust.
The 1 inch tube has been ovalized to pass the "X" now I wonder if the
exhaust bend over the rear axle between the left frame & the shock or
between the shock & the diff?
