A follow up to my earlier post...
Searching for some additional info on this I found that Rallye's website
mentions that the highest 1600 VIN found so far is SPL311-31304. Dann, is it
still alive?
Second, Dann mentions that there are gaps in known VIN series. Question, were
the SP311 and SPL311 cars numbered consecutively across both models? That is,
if there is an SP311-26800 there is no SPL311-26800. Or were they numbered
consecutively in separate model groups, and groups of SPL's (and SRL's) are
AWOL or scrapped.
Being retentive about VINs and numbers....

To the List,
Returning to a thread about the highest VIN on a SPL or SRL roadster...
searching the archives for the listserve, the highest active SPL left
(or at least acknowledged, was SPL311U-31016, owned by Marc Tyler in
Texas).
I have located one numbered higher, SPL311U-31163. It is red w/black
int. and lost an argument with a tree -- pretty bad but not terminal (grill,
hood, bumper, radiator at least, need to look further).
Anyone have a 1970 SPL311 higher the 31163? Phill Brook's book lists
the series going thru 31400. Does anyone know what happened to the "last"
one 31400? Or was Nissan a little off in their numbers?
Phill, Rob, Dennis, Tom, others -- an ideas?

P.S. Whatever happened to the content of the roadster registry that
Mike Bell down in Florida was creating 2-3 years ago?
