If any of you in the Bay Area have not been on this
run, you owe it to yourself to join us on the Mt.
Hamilton to Livermore run on Saturday April 7th. This
is like traveling back through time to when "Silicon
Valley" was the "Valley of Hearts Delight." Now that
Spring has come, the flowers are in bloom and there is
nothing but rolling hills and open pasture and farm
land for miles around. You can not imagine the beauty
of the Bay Area with out buildings and highways. To
pair this beauty with our open air roadsters is truly
a bit of heaven.
I would suggest we meet at Lick Observatory at the
crest of Mt. Hamilton Rd. Take the Alum Rock Ave.
exit from Hwy 680 close to where it intersects with
Hwy 101. Alum Rock takes you to Mt. Hamilton Rd. Mt.
Hamilton Rd. takes you to Lick Observatory. If we
meet at Lick Observatory at 9:00 AM, we should be able
to make it to Livermore by noon. There are several
wineries where we might meet for a picnic lunch
(Concannon, Stony Ridge and Cedar Mountain to name a
few).
This run might work for our roadster friends in
Modesto or the Sacramento area as well. From Hwy 5
Del Puerto Canyon Rd. joins San Antonio Valley Rd.
where we will be traveling through at about 10:30.
Let Ken and I know if you are up for this!
