I have heard of the Scarab conversion kit for the early Zs, which I believe was
developed
and manufactured right here in the San Jose, CA area. Was (by reputation) a
well-engineered kit to swap in the venerable small block Chevy. Prob'ly didn't
do weight
distribution any favors, but I have heard of folks using an aluminum block
version of the
327 to ease that problem.
