Paul,
When I re-cored my heater, I recall that a coil and bracket installed onto
the metal housing just behind the core, and the wires went out the back of
the box. I seem to recall that it was inside the box. These wires mated
with the wiring connections from the blower.
Good luck tracing the horn short!
