brake adjustment

On a 66 1600 how do you adjust the rear brakes ? I found the square head
bolt for adjustment. I Took off the drum and saw that the inside of the
adjustment bolt was square too. Is the bolt on a taper? If when
tightening up the bolt how many hexes do you back off the adjustment
screw ? Also I don't see a adjustment for the emergency brake.Is this
adjusted when the rear brake are adjusted automatically?
