I have been thinking about getting a set of weber dcoe manifold for my 1500
with that same question in mind "will it be to much carburation?" check out
this link http://www.piercemanifolds.com/yourwebers.htm the last car is a
1600 with 40's the kit runs $820 from Piercemanifolds.com and it includes
the carbs maniold and all the linkage. They told me the kit was jetted and
setup just for the R16 engine.

Just out of curiosity, not having a R16 myself, would dual Weber or Mikuni
40's on a R16 be too much carburation without larger valves and serious cam
lift? on a stroked R-20 I could see it (and have seen it, Stan's car for
example).

List,
I just found out that the Mikuni, Weber side draft manifold is still
available. Dual 44's 0r 45 DCOE's on a stroked 1600. Plus you can even
use the smaller 40's on them.
