I have been using the cross-drilled/slotted rotors that we sell ($240/pr)
for a couple years of auto-xing and the track day at Thunderhill last
summer. (but then I didn't USE my brakes on that LAST lap :-)
They have really cut down on the overheating problems I used to have,
especially in auto-x. Had to run Motul 600 to keep from boiling the fluid
and losing pedal. I don't see the need for a big brake setup unless you are
going to be running 150+ down the back straight at THill like Calspeed plans
:-).
