OK, so i got impatient waiting for the NOWROC tune-up seminar, and I
decided this AM to do about 30 seconds of "helpful" maintenance. Pulled
the distributor cap, and took my wife's emory board to the distributor
contacts, the points, and the rotor. Blew everything off real good,
reassembled, and now the $%^&$# won't start. It tried to cough a couple
times, but other than that, it just turns over with no hint of starting.
What the hell have I done? It almost sounds like the distributor is in
backwards, but I've double checked the cap orientation, and the rotor only
goes on one way. Any suggestions? Is emory board an absolute no-no for
some reason I don't know about. It was running pretty decent before I
tried to help out. I'm so pissed. It's supposed to be in the 70's all
week in Portland, and my cars stuck in the damn garage.
