Hey!  Having lived in Southern California most of my life, I resemble that 
remark!  

Are you referring to the well known continental tilt theory?  This theory 
(which has much anecdotal evidence in its favor) states that the north American 
continent is tilted up towards the north and east, causing all the loose flakes 
and nuts to accumulate in Southern California.
