Matt,

Is your tailpipe black?

Sounds to me like you're just loading up and dying. It's too rich, still.
Reach under the carbs and be sure your jets aren't hanging down (sticking
open from when the choke is pulled). A gentle finger push up is all it
takes to be sure.

Idle should be ~800 rpm. Fuel pressure ~3-4 psi. Fuel float lever height
(the brass tab on the bowl cover) should be .55-.59" (see Chilton manual,
Datsun repair and tune-up '61-'72).

Check and compare plugs #1 and #4 and adjust mixture accordingly if the
above is OK. Good luck,
