soft top

Hi evereyone,
I am getting ready to install my new top, thanks to CDM for a great
replacement top,and frame.
Should there be a cable that runs from the bracket behind the seat, to
the front
bow? I remember there being one in that location on other cars.This car
has never had a top on it since I have owned it.
