non-OG parts

What do you guys think about using non-Datsun parts on Roadsters? Do you
guys opt for factory parts when given the choice or do you just go for the
less expensive alternative? This question pretty much goes for all parts
from brakes to, i guess, engines.

I'm asking this, just to see if there is any REAL difference in quality
and performace. I tend to go for the less expensive part, but that's just
'cause I gotta pay tuition and all.
