rear shock install.

Hello All,
        Has anyone installed new rear shocks themselves??  Is there a trick
to it??  I can not seem to get the upper mounts to slide on over the shaft
they mount to??

        Boy, having a 'fun' run looming in the very near future is a good
kick-in-the-pants to get stuff done on your car.
