Maybe, but the little (compared to other V-8's) 215 is a popular swap
into smaller cars like the Roadster and the 510. There are several that I
know of. As the major OEM mechanical bits for these cars become more
scarce we'll need alternatives.
Wonder if any pieces from the new (BLM or whatever they're called this
week) version will fit the original from GM? Did the blocks have cylinder
liners? The biggest problem, IMHO, with a lot of the more "modern"
aluminum block motors is that you can't really rebuild them. Many use
wear coating on the aluminum bores that goes away if you bore, even hone,
the cylinders.
