Dear All,
Talking to Mike Kerr at Roadster Restorations, I find that there are a few
variations to the float chamber that may be confusing to some.
If appliable to you an if able, please pull one of the float lids and look
at the needle/seat assy. Go to www.ztherapy.com/SURebuilding.html
for pix if needed
The R16 engine is the 1600 cc , also referred to as the "Sport" or
"Roadster"
This one has 1 1/2" mouth carbs, and uses the 10x1mm threading for the
needle-seat-GroseJet. The 10 referres to the diameter of the threading (1cm
or 10 millimeter). The stock item has a larger ring around it with holes,
easily visible without removing the needle-seat-GJ from the lid.
There is no external signs to check, the lid must be removed.
Grose Jet part number HI-601
The U20 engine is the 2 litre-"2000"-"Roadster"-"Sport".
1 3/4 mouth carb (same basic dsign as the 240Z). These use the smaller
6x1mm threading for the needle-seat-GJ. The 6 refers to the diameter of the
threading (6mm).
This GJ is identical to the short side 240Z Part number HI-602ST
Note: The late '70 roadster 2000 may have the large thread needle-seat-GJ.
The only way to tell is to pull the lid and look at it. If you receive the
wrong one, send it back to me for exchange. Scott
