David Whiteside, the list 30/40 expert and owner of an actual Lotus
30 adds the following comments to the photos posted above"
"The only parts that look like 40 parts are the wheels. The brakes
are Type 30, the exhaust and engine are Type 30 and the rear
scuttle/bulkhead are Type 30. Additionally, Lotus only built 3 Lotus
40s and two of them are complete cars (Peter Regna of ATL & Peter
Denty owned them in 1995)".
David later add that he is now sure that the car in the photo is one
of the two or more Lotus 30s owned by Morris Kendig.
Thanks to David for the correction. It's important that corrections
such as this be made else, this sort of mis-captioning tends to
become "historic fact".
