I agree Don,
For my 67 Spit, I leave the jack and spare at home. I don't
neglect my tyres, so I'm not really worried about a flat. Of course the
occurence of an obstacularly-induced blowout exists, but I figure the
chance is relatively low.
The extra trunk space is nice, but usually it's filled up with
tools, spare oil, parts or blankets anyway.
