This post goes out all midgteers who have replacement keys for their cars.
It will only apply to those with locking columns. The key to mine was
stolen (amoung other things) and I need to get a replacement. The problem
is, no locksmith claims to have books that go back that far for them to even
have a blank to start from. So, the question is, what blanks were used for
your duplicates? The alternative is to take the old lock out and have it
rekeyed on a locksmith's bench. The problem here is in getting the old one
out. I have the column cover off and have tried the cold chisel/slot
routine without success. I don't have enough clearance to get a good hit on
the screw head. I don't have a dremel tool or it would be done. Any other
thoughts?
