Say, now that's more like it! Seeing people poking fun at Land-Rovers is
the most interesting thread I've seen on this list. Jolly good fun, eh wot?
TerriAnn, while you are poking back, you should post your famous "profile"
of the Land-Rover aficionado.
I've been a lurker on this list for several months. My only British
vehicles, at present, are half a dozen or so Land-Rovers and an old Austin
Champ. I used to have Jags (a 140MC roadster and--for years--a 150 FHC) and
would love to have them again, 'tho' next time around, I'll probably go for
something older, say a MK IV or V or an SS-1 saloon... or maybe a flat-rad
Moggie... :^o My 17+ year-old son, following the All-British Field Leak in
Portland, is stuck on the notion of acquiring a really gonzo Mini-Cooper S.
He liked the race-prepared, supercharged one, especially.
I am interested, too, in the threads about the Rover V-8, as I have, from
time to time, considered perhaps putting one in one of my Land-Rovers; I
appreciate, in this regard, the collected wisdom of the list. But I mainly
watch the list for Land-Rover folks who are not on the Land-Rover list
(lro@team.net aka the Rover-Net) and for any mention of the Austin Champ, as
I would like to network with other Champ owners.
Thanks, folks, for the entertainment! Good show!
