Bugeye headlight trim ring question

Hello all,
        this weekend in preparation for the upcoming British car show at 
Pasatiempo Country Club in Scotts Valley, Ca. I set about polishing the 
various chrome bits removed from Redcar prior to last year's La Carrera. 
        When I got to the box of headlight trim rings, I realized I have 
two different types and am not sure which is correct for a Bugeye. So I 
tap the collective net.wisdom, and ask if I should be using the ones 
with the more square profile or the ones that are more rounded 
(cross-sectional views). Both types have the same mounting hardware, so 
that is no clue.
