I spent most of Sunday afternoon looking at a 1962/63 TR4. It has been owned
by the same man since 1968 (or so). He's now 80 years old and can no longer
"lovingly" take care of his "baby".
Here are some of the details. Commission #CT8556L. Original color black, but
he has stripped, patched and painted most of it New White. Interior is red
vinyl. It as the long hood blister, lift-a-dot (new) top, SU H6 carbs and
mostly original stuff under the hood.
The engine was clean as a whistle the the owner painted some of the parts. He
has replaced some items (back shocks, fuel pump) with reliable but non-stock
items. Everything works, lights, brakes, wipers, squirts etc...
The engine spent 3 years in pieces on his basement workroom bench and he
took great care in reassembling it. It sounds and runs GREAT!
