Jeez I must have had a sheltered youth. But let me take a crack at
a couple.
Perhaps number 1 refers to a flat-head Ford? I actually had one
of those in high school. Ford V8s from 1932(?) to sometime in the
early '50s had flat-head engines, i.e., the valves were in the
block rather than the heads. The heads were relatively thin and
didn't have valve-train bulges on top. Or maybe there was a flat-top
Ford and I don't have a clue.
My guess on 2 is a souped-up Chevy. A Chevrolet with a "souped-up"
engine, i.e. modified for for increased performance.
Number 3: I don't have a clue.
