Todd, On my GT6, the voltage stabilizer is screwed onto the back of the speedometer. You might take a look there. Given that the VS needs a ground, and the speedo body is grounded (for the instrument lights to work), and the thing sits vertically, rather than horizontally (hence your 20 degrees stuff), the MG fixing point may be the same.
