Eric, It sounds to me like your spit-autocrosser may have a weakening lower end, causing lower oil pressure. Dual Weber-style carburettors and hi-lift camshafts tend to destroy the crank, rod and nonexistent cam bearings in short order. Check those nasty thrust washers while you're at it. Pull the pan and get out the Plastigage. You can also check the pump clearances pretty easily. The whole job should be under 2 hours. Have fun. Greg Meboe MEBOE@wsuvm1.csc.wsu.edu |
