It sounds reasonable to me. I have always wanted a T series MG. When
last I looked seriously, about 6 years ago, a solid restorable running TD
was about $10K, and a TC was somewhat more. Prices seem to have fallen
some in the last few years, so $7K sounds in the right ball park for a car
that is not presently roadable. It would certainly tempt me. There are a
lot of things that can affect the price that you haven't mentioned. For
example, is the upholstery good enough to be used? Leather is not cheap.
A car that has been sitting unused for 17 years is going to need just
about everything, and even if you do most of the work yourself you will
probably have $20K in it by the time it hits the road, unless you want a
show car, in which case you will spend even more. But then, you knew
that.
