When i first joined the list, there was some chatter about pcv valves etc.
if some one saved that, would the forward to me. many thanks.
I am running my newly rebuilt 1275 in my TA and once again have trouble with
oil leaks. it seems to be out the pan gasket at the rear main and some blown
up through the big hole i put in the filler cap on the last engine to solve
the same problem. which seems to be pressuration of the crankcase. When
Butch Gilbert built up the short block he cut the top off the oil seperator
on front of the timing chain cover, saying that the racers just run with it
open to atmosphere. funny thing is i am pumping oil but that oil seperator
is dry. i blocked the hole in the filler cap and did a few laps around Sears
point yesterday. Boy oh boy, i was really pumping oil when i came in. So
now i am going to try a Pcv valve to see if that makes a difference.
question is, there must be a restriction in the pipe somewhere. what
dia. is it?? Problem should lessen as the rings seat.

any suggestions greatly appreciated.

the new 1275 coupled to the 5 speed is making the neighborhood Miata's
nervous!
