Oil Consumption

Oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be any visible smoke of any kind.
I am changing the oil today, and seriously considering dropping the sump
pan and regasketing, and regasketing the timing chain cover.
 
Wouldn't you think with that kind of oil consumption it would smoke?
The only things I have seen are steam in the morning (short lived) and
some grey smoke when I set it >really< rich.
