Can anyone out there in netland help me with a couple of questions:
1. Does anyone have a list of what paint colour/trim combinations
were available in UK-spec TR7s ? Mine is a 1980 with some kind
of metallic gold paint and tan tartan trim, and it's not my
favourite combination...
2. My aforementioned TR7 is a V8 conversion. Recently the distributor
went (it's one with the electronics built into the distributor,
which I believe is from a pre-81 SD1) and I was quoted UKP 280 for
a replacement! However a local car electrical specialist put on
a used range rover unit (with electronics in a separate unit bolted
to the wing) for a lot less money. Should this setup have a different
coil? It seems to work ok (given that there is apparently reduced
compression in all the cylinders, but that's another story).
PS regarding the discussion about reducing traffic on autox.team.net,
if this mailing list was gatewayed into a usenet group, I would instead
read that.
