An even better Briticism with (I think) approximately the same
meaning is "shufty." As in "have a shufty at <something>." Its
use is primarily northern England and Scotland. No guesses as to
the etymology of this one.

I have a question for U.K. subscribers: Rimmer Brothers offers
complete (and apparently scrupulously correct) interiors for
Herald and Vitesse. Am I right in guessing that these are
actually made by Newton Commercial? And would it be brighter
of me to order from them direct?

Also: Does anyone know if the classic steering wheel with
three groups of four bright metal spokes, as used in some '60s
Triumphs, is being manufactured by anyone? Moss offers
a repro of the '62-'69 MGB version, but it's not quite right.

Please reply direct, as I haven't been getting the digest for
a couple of weeks now. (What's going on, Mark?)
