Well I've finally got the outside of my GT6+ painted and put
back together (have you ever noticed that every little doodad
in a triumph requires adjusting when you put it back together?).
So now I'm looking into the interior. The typical: carpets,
dash, door panels, and headliner. Most of this stuff seems
to be just the standard grunt work, but I do have some questions
about the headliner.
I purchased a headliner from VB a while back and have had it
hanging in the basement over the winter ever since (nice warm
place -- hopefully this will remove wrinkles). Does anybody
in NetLand have any experience with attaching these things?
I've read in one of my Triumph restoration books (I don't
remember the title -- something about Restoring the Hearald,
Spitfire and GT6) that headliners are very difficult to get
right. They were working with the hardtop on a Spit which may
be a different thing altogether... Would it be better for me
to get an upholstery guy to put it in for me?
Later,
Martine
