Have any SOL's watched a BBC show on the tele entitled "The Secret Life
of Machines"? It's usually found on cable, Thursdays, through the "Discovery
Channel"
It's not really related to LBC's, but it's full of wonderful, but quirky, facts
about british mechanical and electrical stuff. Last night the host yanked a
transistor from a tele, hooked it up to a 12v battery, a potato, and a Lucas
driving lamp. The current from the potato acted to engage the switch in the
transistor in order to illuminate the Lucas lamp. (it's much more fun to see it
than to describe it...just watch the show...you'll like it.....).
I'd rather be tinkering with or driving the TD, but at -23F here in the
Brekshires it's out of the question. Cable TV makes cabin fever a bit more
tolerable....
