Hi all...

The welder guy did my TR6 yesterday. He cut/ground out the old bracket,
repaired the box frame (where a piece had ripped off the top), welded on
a new bracket and added the gussets to all four brackets so this won't
happen again. Cost $285 to have done in my driveway...

He did a nice job; I'd recommend him to others in the South Bay needing
Notorious TR6 Welding Jobs. This is an old-timer who's done this exact
job a number of times, as well as the differential mount repairs and other
such stuff, sometimes under warranty from the factory!

        Lewy's Welding and Custom Fabrication
        1825 Grant Street
        Santa Clara, CA 95050
        (408) 970-8814

Now that that's done, it's time to put everything back together, oh boy!

New springs, shocks, ball-joints, bushings, steering rack (the repro, I
couldn't resist a new rack @ $180; will rebuild my original one sometime),
tie-rod ends and all new grade 5 hardware; all old parts stripped, etched
and Hammerite'd.

I'm expecting a rather substantial improvement when all is done, perhaps by
this weekend?
